Fashion in Thrift Stores

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Sometimes when you’re trying to stock your wardrobe, vintage clothes could be the way to go. Vintage fashion can save you a lot of cash if you go about your shopping in the right way. Below are some tips for the getting the most out of your search for quality clothes at thrift stores.

The first tip is to not expect too much. Thrift stores are great, but you have to begin with realistic expectations. The quest to find a designer suit at cheap price is not likely going to happen, especially since everyone else is out looking for the same kinds of deals. It is more realistic that you will find a least one thing you’ll like to wear at a great price every time you shop at a thrift store. This is a realistic goal that can be achieved. Second, give yourself an adequate amount of time. Thrift store shopping can be a time-consuming process, because the clothes aren’t as neatly organized as they are at other types of stores. Thrift store clothes are often jumbled together on racks or shelves and you will have to do a lot of sorting on your own to find what you’re looking for. In addition, thrift stores won’t be clumped together in a row like new clothing stores in the mall are. Therefore, it will take you some time to get from one store to the next. Nonetheless, if you have a little time and patience you can find some real fashion gems at thrift stores.
